These instructors, along with other well-known locals from the regional area, converge at AUGI CAD Camp to make your educational experience a memorable one.

National Instructors

  Rich Andrews
Rich is a Mechanical Engineer, and cut his teeth designing and drafting on release 9.  He later started working in 3D doing design visualization in AME (Advanced Modeling Extensions) on AutoCAD release 11.  He’s been at Autodesk for 12 years, has managed the AutoCAD and GIS support teams, and now manages development of training materials for AutoCAD.   To keep it “real”, Rich gets out and trains at occasional AUGI CAD Camps, and Autodesk internal events.
   
   David Cohn
David has more than 20 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD as a user, developer, author and consultant. He is an applications engineer with The PPI Group, a contributing editor to Desktop Engineering magazine, the former publisher and editor-in-chief of CADCAMNet and Engineering Automation Report, the former senior editor of CADalyst magazine, and the author of more than a dozen books on AutoCAD. A licensed architect, David was also one of the earliest AutoCAD third-party software developers, creating numerous AutoCAD add-on programs. As an industry consultant, David has worked with many companies including Autodesk. He teaches college-level AutoCAD courses and is always a popular presenter at Autodesk University.
   
  Clyne S. Curtis
Clyne has been the CAD database manager at Brigham Young University for the past 8 years where he assists the planning and space management departments in maintaining an accurate gross square footage of the campus. He has been a Revit instructor/trainer for 3+ years and is in the process of converting BYU's AutoCAD-based building database to Revit for use with FMDesktop. He was also a speaker at Autodesk University in 2007.
   
Mark Kiker
Mark has more than 20 years of hands-on experience with CAD technology. He has developed corporate CAD standards and guidelines for many firms. As a nationally known speaker and writer he has instructed over 3700 users at company sites, local colleges and tech schools. He even worked inside the reseller channel so he knows Autodesk products from all sides. Mark is currently serving as Vice President of AUGI, a position he has held for the last four years. He writes the monthly CAD Manager column for AUGIWorld magazine and also writes for AUGI Hot News. He is editor of the monthly CADD Manager Journal e-newsletter and publishes the CADD Manager Blog and www.caddmanager.com. He currently works at HMC Architects, Ontario, CA as Chief Information Officer, Mark is also an Autodesk Certified Trainer (ACT) and an 11 year veteran speaker at Autodesk University.

 

   

Travis Jones
Travis is a training content manager at Autodesk, Inc. with more than 15 years experience with Autodesk products. He has developed and delivered training courses to countless people. You may recognize him if you have participated in a virtual training class on an Autodesk products. A prolific writer and educator, Travis has not only co-authored seven Autodesk Inventor books and has also managed Autodesk official training courseware projects for AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT and the Autodesk Inventor product line. He is also a regular speaker at Autodesk University and other conferences.

   

Matt Murphy
Matt has been recognized by Autodesk as a leader in providing professional training since 1985. He has served as an advisor and consultant to the training industry as Chair of the Autodesk Training Center Advisory Board (ATCAB) and Executive Committee (ATCEC). Matt is also an Autodesk Approved Instructor (AAI) and a Certified Technical Trainer (CTT). He has received numerous instructional awards, including the ATC Eastern Regional Instructor of the year for 2004. A widely acclaimed top trainer and featured columnist for Cadalyst and AUGIWorld magazines, he has presented at Autodesk University for 15 years and was the top Autodesk University Speaker for both tutorial and large lecture sessions for 2007.

Regional Instructors

Seth Cohen

Seth Cohen is a CAD applications specialist at ProSoft, specializing in civil engineering and CAD applications including Civil 3D, Map 3D, AutoCAD, and InRoads.  He has conducted many classes for CAD professionals and specializes in providing project startup and CAD standards implementation for commercial and government organizations.  Seth has also created many of ProSoft's renowned CAD and design training manuals.  He has 10 years of civil engineering experience, working in the industry as a CAD technician and CAD manager designing and producing production plans for many state departments of transportation (DOTs) and municipalities.  Seth is also Autodesk Civil 3D PSE Certified.

 

Mark Mates
Mark is a certified AEC Applications Engineer supporting Autodesk products, as well as a senior instructor for ProSoft.  He specializes in providing consulting services and technical writing.  His most recent title is the 900-page Revit Architecture 2008 Fundamentals training manual published by ProSoft.  Mark served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, and then became a CAD manager for a large AE firm supporting architects and structural engineers.  Mark has more than 21 years of CAD/BIM experience and is proficient in Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP, AutoCAD and MicroStation.  He is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

 

Kristen Smith

Kristen Smith has been working with AutoCAD® software since 1990. She is the owner of KCS Consulting, a drafting and CAD consulting business she started in 1997. She is also an Autodesk® Authorized Consultant. Kristen has managed all aspects of client technical training courses from design to delivery and evaluation. She specializes in AutoCAD® Architecture and AutoCAD customization, and has authored training content for several Autodesk projects.  Kristen has provided exceptional technical assistance to numerous ProSoft customers.
