National Instructors

 

David Cohn 

David has more than 20 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD as a user, developer, author and consultant. He is an applications engineer with The PPI Group, a contributing editor to Desktop Engineering magazine, the former publisher and editor-in-chief of CADCAMNet and Engineering Automation Report, the former senior editor of CADalyst magazine, and the author of more than a dozen books on AutoCAD. A licensed architect, David was also one of the earliest AutoCAD third-party software developers, creating numerous AutoCAD add-on programs. As an industry consultant, David has worked with many companies including Autodesk. He teaches college-level AutoCAD courses and is always a popular presenter at Autodesk University.

   
Robert Green
Robert is a nationally known author, teacher and consultant with 22 years of CAD experience in a variety of applications. You’ve likely read his work in Cadalyst magazine, PE Magazine, The CAD Manager's Newsletter or his new book Expert CAD Management: The Complete Guide. As a consultant, public speaker and 13-year veteran of Autodesk University, Robert has taught thousands of students in CAD management, programming and CAD application usage since 1990. When Robert isn’t writing or teaching, he heads The Robert Green Consulting Group, which provides consulting and programming services for clients throughout the U.S. and Canada. Robert holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and resides in the greater Atlanta area.
   

Matt Murphy
Matt has been recognized by Autodesk as a leader in providing professional training since 1985. He has served as an advisor and consultant to the training industry as Chair of the Autodesk Training Center Advisory Board (ATCAB) and Executive Committee (ATCEC). Matt is also an Autodesk Approved Instructor (AAI) and a Certified Technical Trainer (CTT). He has received numerous instructional awards, including the ATC Eastern Regional Instructor of the year for 2004. A widely acclaimed top trainer and featured columnist for Cadalyst and AUGIWorld magazines, he has presented at Autodesk University for 15 years and was the top Autodesk University Speaker for both tutorial and large lecture sessions for 2007.


 

 

Heidi Hewett
An AutoCAD user since 1986, Heidi has been able to apply her vast array of knowledge and skills to a wide variety of positions at Autodesk, including product support technician, training specialist and senior applications engineer. In her current position as technical marketing manager, Heidi guides the AutoCAD development teams in creating and delivering technical marketing materials for AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. An exceptional trainer of professionals from all backgrounds, she is also an instructor for the AUGI Training Program (ATP) and Autodesk Boot Camp, and is a popular presenter at Autodesk University and other national events.oiperiop[iopiafioweri[weropiwripworiopwripoweripowramjopr[prwoprpwropiwriweropiwropw

Regional Instructors

Michael Bandich P.E.
Mike has worked in the civil engineering field for the past 13 years. Currently, he is the ISD/Civil Department Manager for Kelar Pacific. Prior to joining the reseller channel, he worked with a variety of land- and civil-development projects as a designer and project manager. Mike has a solid understanding of the engineering process thanks to his experiences with engineering firms both large and small and with a design/build contractor. Also holds Civil 3D ICE Certified (2006,2007,2008);  ACAD PSE (2007,2008); Civil 3D PSE (2007,2008); Data Management PSE (2008); Land Desktop PSE (2007)

Clyne S. Curtis

Clyne has been the CAD database manager at Brigham Young University for the past eight years where he assists the planning and space management departments in maintaining an accurate gross square footage of the campus. He has been a Revit instructor/trainer for more than three years and is in the process of converting BYU’s AutoCAD-based building database to Revit for use with FMDesktop. He was also a speaker at Autodesk University in 2007.

Scott Davis

Scott has been a Technical Specialist with Autodesk for over a year.  Prior to that, he was a Project Manager and the Technology Coordinator for WLC Architects in Rancho Cucamonga, California.  There, he was responsible for implementing Revit as the design and documentation tool of choice for over 100 users in 3 offices.  Scott is an active member of AUGI and frequently participates in the Revit Forums.  He has presented at Autodesk University for 3 years.  Scott has been using Revit since version 1.0.

 
Angel Espinoza
Angel is a Civil Engineering Technical Specialist for Autodesk. He has previously worked for 14 years in civil engineering production and 9 years for an Autodesk reseller. He previously taught Civil 3D classes for Autodesk University in 2005 & 2006. Angel is the author of "Angel's Civil 3D Thoughts" blog since 2004.

Dennis Hall
Dennis has been involved in the development and implementation of BIM technologies in design and construction organizations for the past seven years from the perspectives of architectural practice and construction.  He is active in AIA’s Technology in Architectural Practice, Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), National Institute of Building Science (NIMS) and its National BIM Standards Task Team, Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), and the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE), as well as, a frequent speaker at these organization’s national conventions and regional conferences.  Dennis has BA and MArch degrees in architecture and is currently a Principal at Presidio Design-Build.

 

Gilles Letourneau

Gilles Letourneau, AIA, CSI is a co-founder of InterSpec Inc., a software development and specification management company located in Portland , ME. Letourneau is the principal architect of e-SPECS®, InterSpec’s innovative specification automation program that links architectural BIM Models and CAD drawings to the specification master documents in order to automate the preparation of project specification manuals. Prior to launching InterSpec, Letourneau spent seven years as an architect and spec writer for a number of architectural firms. He holds a degree in Architecture from Syracuse University and a MS in Architecture with a concentration in Computer Aided Design and Artificial Intelligence from the California Polytechnic State University .

Jeremiah McKnelly
Jeremiah is a Geospatial Technical Specialist for Autodesk, Inc. He has been using Autodesk based products since 1995 and has been an Autodesk Map based GIS practitioner since 2001. He spent 5 years as the CAD and GIS Supervisor of an independent telephone company giving him great exposure and experience in the communications industry and prior to that worked as an Autodesk Instructor and support technician. Jeremiah attained his BS in Industrial Technology from CSU, Fresno in 1999 and won the Top DAUG competition at AU 2003.

Derek Renn
Derek has been a CAD Manager at several Architectural and MEP firms in Southern California since the early 1980’s. For the last 10 years he has been working in the Autodesk VAR channel and is currently the AEC Technical Manager for Kelar Pacific, a local PSP, Autodesk Training Center and Value Adder Reseller in San Diego. Derek holds qualifications as an Autodesk Certified Instructor, Application Specialist in all of the Building Solutions Division offerings, and specializes in the MEP market as an Implementation Certified Expert.
 

Behzad Sanikhatam

Mr. Sanikhatam holds degrees in architecture and engineering. His 25 + years of working in the A/E/C industry is extensive and filled with numerous accomplishments. Among his most recent projects are several BIM specific ones from concept to completion within the education, residential, and commercial sectors. He has been on staff with Kelar for more than 2 years and serves as the resident BIM expert as he has strong knowledge and expert status within the Revit Architecture and Revit Structure applications.

 

Randy Swaim

Randy, vice president at EastCoast CAD/CAM resides with his family in Denver, Colorado. His personal experience in the HVAC sheet metal, piping, and plumbing industry dates back to 1970.  Since then, his career in the industry has included almost every aspect of sheet metal, piping, and plumbing fabrication from the shop floor to managing large commercial projects. Over the past seventeen years, Randy has been traveling throughout North America teaching, supporting and bringing design and fabrication methodology and solutions to engineers, designers and contractors.      

 

Ed Tallmadge

Ed has been using Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop, Revit Building and Revit Structure, for more than 20 years in the building and design field. He holds an associate’s degree in CAD and architecture, as well as a current General Building Contractors B license. Ed was also CAD Manager for several firms specializing in LGS penalization and manufacturing. With tens of thousands of hours’ of hands-on experience, he understands the process of coordination between disciplines and the need for a better solution. He is currently with Kelar Pacific LLC in San Diego in a technical sales position.
