National Instructors

  David Cohn
David has more than 20 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD as a user, developer, author and consultant. He is an applications engineer with The PPI Group, a contributing editor to Desktop Engineering magazine, the former publisher and editor-in-chief of CADCAMNet and Engineering Automation Report, the former senior editor of CADalyst magazine, and the author of more than a dozen books on AutoCAD. A licensed architect, David was also one of the earliest AutoCAD third-party software developers, creating numerous AutoCAD add-on programs. As an industry consultant, David has worked with many companies including Autodesk. He teaches college-level AutoCAD courses and is always a popular presenter at Autodesk University.

 

Robert Green
Robert is a nationally known author, teacher and consultant with 22 years of CAD experience in a variety of applications. You’ve likely read his work in Cadalyst magazine, PE Magazine, The CAD Manager's Newsletter or his new book Expert CAD Management: The Complete Guide. As a consultant, public speaker and 13-year veteran of Autodesk University, Robert has taught thousands of students in CAD management, programming and CAD application usage since 1990. When Robert isn’t writing or teaching, he heads The Robert Green Consulting Group, which provides consulting and programming services for clients throughout the U.S. and Canada. Robert holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and resides in the greater Atlanta area.
   

Matt Murphy
Matt has been recognized by Autodesk as a leader in providing professional training since 1985. He has served as an advisor and consultant to the training industry as Chair of the Autodesk Training Center Advisory Board (ATCAB) and Executive Committee (ATCEC). Matt is also an Autodesk Approved Instructor (AAI) and a Certified Technical Trainer (CTT). He has received numerous instructional awards, including the ATC Eastern Regional Instructor of the year for 2004. A widely acclaimed top trainer and featured columnist for Cadalyst and AUGIWorld magazines, he has presented at Autodesk University for 15 years and was the top Autodesk University Speaker for both tutorial and large lecture sessions for 2007.


 
 

 

Emlyn Altman
Emlyn is an Associate at ForrestPerkins where she directs the firm’s lighting design and visualization services and leads the CAD efforts in the Washington, DC location. With over 17 years of digital design experience utilizing Autodesk applications and an NCQLP certified lighting designer (LC), she is well regarded for her unique, combined specialization in lighting design and architectural visualization. Since 1999, Emlyn has been sharing her passion for CAD, 3D, and lighting design through venues including international conferences, local professional seminars, design publications as well as The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and Sports Illustrated. Among her achievements, Emlyn was one of the first recipients of the Autodesk worldwide iDesign award in 2002 and named one of Building Design & Construction magazine’s “40 Under 40” rising stars of the AEC industry in 2006. Emlyn holds Masters’ degrees in Architecture and Computer-Aided Design from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard respectively.

 

 

Mickey Jones

Mickey is a Senior Associate and CAD Manager at ForrestPerkins with 21 years of CAD experience and an Associate of Engineering Technology degree in Architecture. His expertise with Autodesk products ranges from Architectural Desktop to AutoCAD and Revit Architecture and he is constantly developing ways to improve the firm’s documentation methods by combining the applications throughout the design process.  At ForrestPerkins’ in Dallas he leads the CAD Committee, oversees CAD production standards and training and support. Mickey quickly brought order to “CAD chaos” in an exponentially growing firm through his pursuit of solutions to increase production efficiency and effectiveness. When Mickey isn’t working on CAD issues for the firm, he is the lead guitarist and vocalist for his band - The DefPoints.

 

Regional Instructors

 

Justin Bratton

Justin Bratton has worked at Holman’s of Nevada for the past seven years as an application engineer. His main expertise is focusing on the building solutions products offered by Autodesk such as AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD MEP, Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP, and of course AutoCAD. Justin has gained extensive industry knowledge through his vast experience training architects and engineers He has worked with large and small firms to consult, implement, train and support their needs on the leading Autodesk technologies.

 


Fernanda Lima

Fernanda Lima recently joined Holman’s of Nevada to continue her career of teaching and mentoring others. She has over nine years of experience in the architectural industry. She has held positions such as drafter, designer, project manager, architect associate and principal within architectural firms. She has used Revit Architecture for over three years on residential and commercial projects. Past experience also includes using AutoCAD & AutoCAD Architecture.

 

Tom Pisani

Tom Pisani is an application engineer at Holman’s of Nevada. He has over 10 years experience in civil engineering as a senior designer on projects including master plan communities, off-site water and sewer plans, drainage culverts and commercial. He has provided support as a CAD manager for over seven years in various civil firms. Tom provides training, support and implementation for Land Desktop, Civil 3D, Map 3D and AutoCAD. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management and is also pursuing a second degree in civil engineering.


 
 

 Joe Schmidt

Joe Schmidt manages Holman’s of Nevada’s Autodesk business unit. His team trains, supports and provides industry-leading design and collaboration products including AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map and Buzzsaw. Joe has been with Holman’s of Nevada for over eight years, training and supporting thousands of design and construction professionals. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from UNLV.
